Devprayag(देवप्रयाग)

Devprayag literally meaning the confluence of the gods is an amazing underrated place in Uttarakhand.

Here the rivers Bhagirathi(local name for Ganga before the two rivers merge) and Alaknanda merge. While the Bhagirathi is swift and fast and Alaknanda is slow and calm.

The city of Devprayag in itself is really interesting in its design ,located on top of  a mountain slope. It has steep narrow pedestrian pathways and lots of shops, and barbers because its holy to cut hair near the confluence.

It also has loads of Mandirs(temples) but the most interesting part apart from the religious significance is the way it looks and the Gully Cricket.

Some pictures of the village and nearby interesting things-

This blog is the introduction to my whole trip and about the place I went there will be more blogs about this place.
